Happy November!

It has been the rainiest autumn I have ever seen here in Ocean Springs! It's 70 degrees and it just pours. It's just so strange to me. People are having blizzards right now, making snow angels. Their breath looks like smoke in the air. I'm getting sunburn and sweating. IN NOVEMBER.

backyard patio
Since, I have been trapped inside by the sound of raindrops, which I am definitely not complaining about, I have been trying out different makeup looks. I tried a Mila Kunis smokey eye. It's not perfect but voila!

I and Danielle!

Here's a recent photo of me and my best friend Danielle. I've come to the conclusion that she is my soul sister. Have you ever been around someone and it just felt right? And you can't imagine your life any other way. I have never laughed harder, felt more happy, with any other friend. I just love her.

So, I made my Halloween Costume.

I know it is way past Halloween but I just had to share. I was going to be an angel, so imagine this as angelic minus wings. But of course, I changed my mind last minute, bought a dress, and was a Greek goddess. We can't all be decisive!

I am back from my hiatus if anyone missed me! :)

If you have to know I made this by tearing apart an old nightgown and resewing the pieces to my liking. Pretty cool.

New clothes!

I know it seems like all I do is buy clothes but that just isn't so! Here is a simple dress that I bought from GAP, only $7. It was far too cute to pass up.
Worn with a white button up.

Also bought this unicorn shirt from Forever 21! I love unicorns and anything mythical really.

I call this my jailbird sweater. I feel pretty but I also feel incarcerated, which I imagine is rather rare.
This is Danielle's baby sister, Katie, she was fairly excited. I feel I look very young in this photo!

Lady Frankenstein Makeup!

Lady Frankenstein!
Hey everybody! I recently read the book, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I have to say that it is such a wonderful novel! My heart goes out to Frankenstein's monster, all he wanted in the whole wide world was to be loved, to have somebody to spend his life with. His whole life he was rejected, turned away from humanity, and spurned with hatred. In the book, the monster begs his creator, Frankenstein to make a woman for him, whom he can love and live with, someone as wretched as he. The Doctor begins and is almost finished but he gets scared that there will be a race of 'demons of hell' and throws the whole project away. I always admired the monster, and think perhaps one could look past his looks to love his beautiful mind. Oh, fiction you wrap me up within you far too much.  Anyway! If any of you are interested as in what you need to get this Lady Frankenstein look, look no farther! I did this whole look for under $5! Also a regular black eyeliner for a wing. Do not fret just see below, here are the treasures of my trove!

I first used this white  eyeshadow that I bought today for nearly $1! I spread this all over my lid as a base. I didn't want the turquoise to be too bright, more green and matte.
Sally Hansen

This is the only real color I used and it was only $1. It is a bright bright turquoise in person. Very glittery. My only sadness was that it wasn't very thick. I had to apply multiple times to get the effect I desired.

Rimmel White Eyeliner

I lined my lower lid with this and an inner tearducts to give my eyes a more open and awake look.

Coffee Fusion: Little News Alert!

Kiwi Bubbletea
Little News Alert!

I may be performing at my local coffee house this weekend, or sometime in October!!!! So exciting!
Can I get a hallelujah?! It also has bubble-tea ad for those of you who don't know what bubble-tea is I feel sincerely sorry for you because it's very neat. It is basically any drink, whether it be coffee, tea, or a smoothie, and inside there are small pearls of tapioca balls. But tapioca doesn't have much of a taste so they take the flavor of what you are drinking. I would say it's very similar to tofu in miso soup. You don't really taste the tofu just what it's in. Here's a picture:

Anyway, back to my news! As I have said, I play guitar, harmonica, and little bit of a toy xylophone. I do sing, as well. My best friend, Danielle, has an abosolutely lovely singing voice. I would say very reminscent of Judy Garland, who happens to be one of her idols.  She plays the piano so I'm thinking we can do some duets and she play some backup piano. She's terribly shy so she might not want to sing on her own, but I'm pretty sure I can coax her right out of that. I hope so at least!

Me as a watermelon
I am just so happy at even the prospect of being able to perform in an open group of people. I am shy but I don't think so when it come to something that I love. I love music and people and being surrounded by the loves of my life. So, though I am scared and nervous I have the best of intentions that it will turn out a-ok. At least I hope so!

Vintage Plastic Hanger in Mod Punk Style by domestikate on Etsy

Want!

Pixie Market 60's Cigarette Pants
I have been wanting some cigarette pants for ages! And have yet to find any, not even in black. All the sighs. I would really love to get some in a bright color, gold or perhaps a hot pink. I feel like these are the epitome of having good style.

“Stephon kissed me in the spring,
Robin in the fall,
But Colin only looked at me
And never kissed at all. Stephon’s kiss was lost in jest,
Robin’s lost in play,
But the kiss in Colin’s eyes
Haunts me night and day.”

Great finds at my local Goodwill!

Today, I went to lunch with my best friend, Danielle. I've known her for about 4 years now, couldn't be better! Anyway! As I was driving back I saw the Goodwill, which I frequent quite a bit and there were rows and rows and boxes of clothes. I don't think I have ever seen it so amazing...crowded. Being the curious cat I am, I went to ask what all the buzz was about. Apparently, they were having this bag deal where you fit as much as you can into a bag and it's only $5. I clicked my heels and began rummaging. I'm pretty happy with what I found. I hope you all are as well!

I absolutely adore this dress! I really like how the flowers all collect at the bottom as if they're falling together.

I have decided!

I never really knew what to do with my blog, it had to be of some use. So, I want it to be about things I am interested in.

  • Fashion- I love all things fashion, I don't have a lot of money but I do have style. I would like to display outfits of the day, clothing that tickles my fancy online, and all that jazz.
  • Vintage- I constantly feel like I was born in the wrong era because everything that came before my generation is just so eerily beautiful to me. I would like to show everyone what I mean by that.
  • Reviews- I don't know about anyone else but before I buy something I'd like to know if it really works, how well, and does it have the bang for the buck. So, I'd like to give a few reviews about my favorite products.
  • Photography/Art/Sewing- Photography has been my passion for years now and I just can't get enough. I feel like Art makes you a better person. My favorite mediums would be watercolor and acrylic. I can barely sew but I am getting better, when I get my won sewing machine, I'd love to show my viewers what I can do, get some opinions, and whatnot.
  • Music- I write songs, play the guitar, harmonica, and xylophone. Some videos may be posted so you can know what I sound like.

I believe that concludes it, but yes the above bullets is mostly what I will be focusing on. So if you hate all of those things with a fiery burning passion, that's okay, don't follow! Comments are greatly appreciated.

Thank you and have a lovely day!

I've been thinking...

Where should I take this blog?  As of right now, this is a fairly personal picture blog with a few quotes.
I am new to blogger but I have noticed a trend, everyone has something to say. Well, me too!
I can give reviews. I can show you guys my fashion finds! It could be cool.
I think I just may get a bit more involved in the blogging community.

I'll see where it goes!

"It concerns me that so many people are willing to leave their mark on the world, even if that mark is a scar."

John Green

People in my Life

I can honestly say that I have loved people with a passion, an intensity more than many. It's all I ever want to do. Is to love and be loved in return. But it is not that easy. There's always going to be someone who's like, "Fuck that person." And the always constant person who doesn't share how you feel. I digress.

You cannot make everybody happy all of the time. I don't want to. It's just, my heart has this certain earnestness and only wants to do good. I live in the most violent nation in the world and I'm not supposed to be violent. I'm not supposed to cry. And I am supposed to not give a fuck.

I cannot be indifferent. I will always have an opinion and I will always stand up for what is right.
So to the people who have hurt me, wronged me, all I say is I hope you're doing well.

I wish you my very very best.
Thank you for your love.

Roses: Read all about it

According to some Biblical legends, the original rose growing in the Garden of Eden was white, but turned red as it blushed with shame upon Adam and Eve's fall from grace.

If a maiden had more than one lover, it is believed in one mythology, she should take rose leaves and write the names of her lovers upon them before casting them into the wind. The last leaf to reach the ground would bear the name of the lover whom she should marry.

Roses were used in very early times as a very potent ingredient in love potions.
The good thing about science is that it’s true whether or not you believe in it.
Neil deGrasse Tyson
I see people that I could have been friends with, as in very good friends. We had so much potential to be something so great. Circumstances and people like sugar in a gas tank. We never had a chance. I look back fondly but sometimes I think what if? What if they had never said that one thing or moved away. Where would I be? Who?

I guess I'll never know.

It’s just that I don’t want to be somebody’s crush. If somebody likes me, I want them to like the real me, not what they think I am. And I don’t want them to carry it around inside. I want them to show me, so I can feel it too.

Havin a bad day?

A Love Letter

Cat Stevens once said that it comes down to looking at yourself and figuring out that you're either in love and that’s everything, or you’re thinking about life so deeply that you get incredibly lost.
I think that I am a little bit of both.
That I am so deeply in love with you that I am lost.
And I can't imagine being found in a world that is not your arms.
It robs me of my breath and my hope for a better past.
Because now, now I can't imagine anything
but the brightest of futures.

They never say to you, ‘What does his voice sound like? What games does he love best? Does he collect butterflies?’ Instead, they demand, ‘How old is he? How many brothers has he? How much money does his father make?’ Only from these figures do they think they have learned anything about him.

Somedays are better than most
I am just so tired of doing nothing
People say go out and live
but I don't know what that means
I just do what I want
but that's not getting me anywhere
I feel really pressured to do well
go through college
get a job
get married
but I just wanna run

Saying, ...time take us forward. Relief from this longing,
they can land that plane on my heart I don't care
just give me November, the warmth of a whisper
in the freezing darkness of my room.
